An artist's imagination can extend beyond the rectangular contours of a single canvas. These multi-panelled works offer the chance to elevate any wall space in an original and sophisticated way.
Diptychs and triptychs first appeared as altar pieces in Renaissance art. More recently, these "non-standard" formats have been re-appropriated by artists such as Andy Warhol in his iconic "Marilyn Diptych", or Mark Rothko's monochrome diptychs in the Rothko Chapel.
