In partnership with Montcalm Collection, Rise Art presents Reprise, a focused evolution of our previous exhibition The Sound of Form, spotlighting the work of Andrew Crane and Kevin Jackson.
Reprise furthers the exploration of how visual art can embody and translate sound, presenting several works by each artist in a compelling dialogue. Together, these pieces investigate the sensory potential of painting to ignite auditory and emotional responses.
This selection invites audiences to consider how art and sound can converge and generate new realms of perception. Reprise celebrates the holistic capacity of art to move beyond the visual, tapping into the boundless ways in which form and rhythm, silence and resonance, can coexist on canvas.
Rise Art shines a light on today's most dynamic and culturally significant artists, collaborating directly with a curated roster of emerging, mid-career, and established creatives worldwide.

Sand & Ash by Kevin Jackson
“Sand & Ash is one of the first pieces I created while borrowing the quiet daytime hours of a beachside discotheque in Cuba as my studio. The dance floor was my workshop, and at night I’d enjoy the venue’s energy and rhythm. I made the piece using beach sand, fire ash, and an unknown glue… it’s one of the rare works that survived the journey home. It’s been waiting for the right moment to be shown ever since. To me, it is night-time music, soul, and stars.” – Kevin Jackson
The Fighting Temeraire by Andrew Crane
Inspired by J.M.W. Turner’s elegiac painting of the same name, Andrew Crane reimagines the heroic warship in the height of battle, capturing the sound, the smoke, and the magnificence.
Pianell by Kevin Jackson
Pianell explores the idea of visual interference, a disruption of the familiar, a break from routine. It signals a moment when things no longer align, when something unexpected is set in motion. During the creation of these works, the artist painted and transported them between London and Milan, allowing the movement itself to become part of the process.
Kevin Jackson
Born in 1954, British artist Kevin Jackson explores the translation of sound and rhythm into visual form, capturing movement, resonance and digital flux through colour, geometry and layered abstraction. With a background in fine art and commercial printmaking, Jackson’s work bridges the tactile and the conceptual, using both canvas and print to investigate how we experience and process a rapidly evolving digital world. His works are held in major public collections, including the British Museum and the National Museum of Jordan.
Andrew Crane
Born in 1949, British artist Andrew Crane creates contemporary mixed media works that blur the line between painting and poetry. His use of letters, numbers, and marks forms a visual language of symbols and codes to be deciphered. A member of the Contemporary British Painting collective, Crane is recognised for his experimental approach to abstraction, merging surface tension with conceptual depth.
