Conceptual Artists

Discover conceptual artists. The conceptual approach has been prominent and hugely influential over the recent history of contemporary art. The Young British Artists fuelled the resurgence of conceptual art, with figures such as Damien Hirst, Gavin Turk and Tracey Emin working to take the conceptual drive approach one step further.

Installation artist, Rebecca Mason uses neon lighting and typography to explore the darker and complex nuances of human emotion. Typical of a conceptual artist, Rebecca’s approach has a humorous tone, which she uses to probe at themes of love, culture and society.

Similarly, Gina Parr’s abstract paintings and photography explore the human condition, as well as themes of time, memory and place. Gina’s paintings are large in scale and atmospheric in tone. Her conceptual approach evokes a reaction from the viewer, and by merging elements of the real with that of the abstract, she encourages a personal interpretation to her art. Her refined use of colour and textured brushwork has earned her exhibitions throughout the UK and Europe and her art in collections across the world.
