Ute Laum

German abstract artist Ute Laum is best known for her acrylic landscape paintings. Ute uses a broad flat brush to intuitively layer light and dark colours on canvas, balancing dynamic lines, intense contrasts, and bold pigments. The artist paints from a space of reflection, remembrance, and impression, leaving lots of room for contemplation and interpretation.

Ute Laum’s Early Career and Inspiration

Born, raised, and educated in Bonn, Ute moved to the new eastern states of Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Her works often explore light and nature across landscapes and coastlines. Ute’s deliberately abstract works invite viewers to tune into their understanding of abstract form and reflect on their experience of the natural world.

Exhibitions and Collections

Ute has numerous landscape and coastal works in private collections across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Israel, the USA, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. Ute has presented in solo and group exhibitions in Munich, Madrid, Milan, Berlin, and beyond.
