Hush's Style
A large part of Hush's art explores themes of femininity and sexuality in Japanese culture as well as the fusion of Asian and European styles. Hush exposes the contrasts between these two cultural identities while exploring themes of female sexuality through the marks of urban art. Layering is a key element of Hush's art. By adorning realistic images of women with lines and geometric shapes and sometimes abstract, Hush creates works that exude energy and bring the traditional image of the Japanese geisha to life.
Career and Exhibitions
Hush studied graphic design at the Newcastle School of Art and Design, and it was only after leaving art school that he began to explore the infinite possibilities of his own creativity.
Since 2007, Hush's prolific approach has resulted in countless exhibitions around the world, most of which were solo exhibitions.
Today, Hush is recognized in Europe, Asia, and the United States and has been named one of the "20 best emerging artists" by The Independent. The growing success of Hush's art has led him to open his own exhibition space, "onethirty3," in Newcastle in 2011.
