Fabian Hub

Fabian Hub, born in 1988 in Mainz, lives and works in Berlin.

His artistic approach

The paintings by Fabian Hub follow no template or concrete idea of the "result"; they develop along the creative process. In the compositions, shaped by constant reconstruction, both organic and architecturally reminiscent elements and structures can be found. Similar to the phenomenon of pareidolia, the partly abstract, partly concrete visual worlds open up to the viewers through individual associations.

Fabian Hub Career

He studied Fine Arts at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), where he graduated in 2019 as a master student (Meisterschüler) under Prof. Thomas Zipp. Hub has received various scholarships and awards, including the Painting Prize of the Schulz-Stübner Foundation. In 2018, he spent three months as an artist-in-residence at Christoph Schlingensief’s Opera Village Africa in Burkina Faso. He has also participated in residency programs in Norway, Finland, and Poland. Since 2014, Fabian Hub’s work has been presented regularly in numerous group and solo exhibitions in various locations, including Berlin, Mexico City, and Basel.
