Mathieu Trezel explores the trivial and harmless landscapes of the edges of roads and peri-urban areas, spaces that we see without looking at them, which are never considered from the point of view of "beautiful". His paintings stage a mythology of harmless elements (advertising panels, safety slides, fir trees ...) in trivial decorations, between cities and nature. Reassuring or claims? Hostile or protective forests? These landscapes are disturbed by abstract interventions, colors, shapes, which bring his paintings closer to magical realism. .
