Dance as a driving force
Rémi Delaplace lives and works in Paris. In 2011, he obtained a Master’s degree in Visual Arts, Contemporary Arts and New Media from the University of Paris 8. His practice of contact improvisation dance enriches his artistic work, questioning our relationship with space.
"My painting is intimately linked to my practice of dance improvisation. It is infused with themes such as gravitation, trajectory, levitation, and fall, which come directly from contact improvisation. It is about new ways of inhabiting the world, space."
