Ludovic Dervillez (born in 1973) is a French abstract painter. Trained at the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design de Reims, where he taught until 2005, he develops a long-term practice, notably marked by a residency at La Fileuse (Reims, 2016–2019).
He also founded La Grange Gallery, an independent space dedicated to contemporary abstract practices. His work, exhibited in France and abroad, follows an autonomous trajectory, evolving from dense painting to a more refined writing, without losing intensity.
His painting is constructed directly on the surface, based on successive decisions. Light traces coexist with thicker strokes, which fix or shift the balance of the painting. Some elements assert themselves, others remain in suspense, and the composition gradually takes shape.
