Federica Aiello Pini’s practice unfolds through collage, mixed media, and stitching as a way of holding complexity. Fragments of paper and memory converge into layered, often spatial compositions, while inserted elements from previous works carry specific energies that create continuity across distant times and places. Her process evokes a ritual dimension and articulates a synchronic vision of reality in which human experience is interconnected rather than linear. Through materials including acrylic, oil, pastel, pencil, gold leaf, crystals, and wood, she constructs a non-linear conception of time where past, present, and future coexist, inviting a rethinking of reality as a field of interwoven possibilities.
Having lived in Panama for several years, her work was deeply influenced by its lush forests and vibrant colors, which intertwine with the sun-washed tones of Sicily and the soft neutrals of Northern Italy that shape her inner sensibility. Later, the powerful Atlantic Ocean in Portugal introduced a new rhythm to her practice, infusing it with expanded energy and movement. Currently based in Italy, her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private and institutional collections worldwide, including the Portuguese Embassies in Panama and Oslo.
