The flamingo is more than Instagram makes it out to be, inflatable floats and all. The Ancient Egyptians believed flamingos represented Ra, the god of the sun. No doubt this had a lot to do with the flaming pink of the bird’s feathers. In fact the word ‘flamingo’ comes from the Latin word for fire, ‘flamenco’. Our curators have put together a selection of flamingo-inspired works to celebrate this fiery bird.
