Chris Macauley

Born in Manchester. Studied art in Blackpool and Newcastle. Worked in the building trade for a decade. Taught Art in Leicester. Full time artist. Expressing light through colour and the arrangement of form are as important as the representation of the scene. Chris Macauley is not a subject specific painter. Whether he is working on still life, portraiture or landscape, he is always trying to discover what the painting is about; the object matter is not really the subject matter.
