Bianca MacCall

Bianca creates quietly observational works that capture fleeting moments of everyday life with warmth, humour and familiarity. Her chosen scenes are recognisable or reminiscent of places that exist, but are meant to be dream-like and unsettling, familiar yet surreal, designed to evoke a half forgotten memory. Sometimes the landscape is observed from the street, at other times it could be from a train window or car windscreen, always the viewer is moving through their surroundings, experiencing the detritus of urban life.

MacCall graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in 2015 with a Ba in Illustration. Key art prizes include the Under 25’s Ironstone Art Prize 2016, Bath Society of Artists Under 25’s Prize, 2017, and the Alan Cassé Print Prize, 2019.

Her work is held in private collections across the UK, Paris, and Hong Kong.
