Niamh Birch (b. 1997, North Devon) is a contemporary painter whose work begins with quiet, ordinary and often overlooked moments of everyday life. She studied Contemporary Art at Bath School of Art and Design and now lives and works in North London.
Working primarily in oils, her paintings are representative rather than precise, drawing on still life motifs combined with domestic interiors and figurative elements. Memory, sketches and photographs become entry points, allowing intuition to guide each composition. Bold colours, textures and harsh outlines bring together cheerful and humorous elements, so the work feels precious yet expressive.
Niamh has exhibited in international group shows and held two solo exhibitions in London, she has also completed residencies across Europe, including Blue Shop Gallery in France and Desoverartists in Greece. Her work has sold through auctions and appeared as cover art for Irish Publisher Gill Books, and she has collaborated with brands including Paul Smith, Daler Rowney, Stan Ray and Munthe.
