Marie Scalliet

Marie Scalliet lives and works in Vendée. She started painting during a long convalescence and has never stopped for more than thirty years, alongside a career in business. She took courses at the Fine Arts during her higher education. Today, she dedicates herself fully and exclusively to painting, working to bring forth the energy present in the sensitive through the language of colors and abstract forms. Marie Scalliet's painting is sometimes bubbling and impulsive, sometimes gentle, in reaction to the world around her and the energy that emanates from it. Influenced by the artistic movement of abstract expressionism, which reflects the freedom of colors and forms, she translates the diversity of sensory stimuli in our daily environment through a renewal in the forms of her compositions. The paintings on canvas and acrylic support, sometimes with oil pastels, gouache, inks, and markers, are always different. The works are created quickly and without retouching. It even happens that they are completely covered the next day! The vibrant colors and graphics evoke movement, turbulence, or stillness, and impose themselves on the viewer. In front of the artwork, the spectator is immersed in a poetic universe and lets themselves be carried away without apprehension towards their own sensitivity. They emerge with renewed vitality.
