Barbara Piatti is a painter-traveler looking for invisibility and inexpressible things. A traveler born to create Barbara Piatti was born in Switzerland in 1964 in a large family and whose grandfather was of Italian origin. She frequented Fine Arts in Basel and then studied philosophy and art history at the University of Zurich. She moved to Paris and becomes the main student of the Irish painter Reginald Gray in Montparnasse then a member of Visarte, society of Swiss artists in Paris. In 1997-98, Barbara Piatti moved to Berlin and painted the city under construction. A few years later, she moved to the banks of the Loire where she currently lives. Since 2005, she has multiplied artist residences in the Philippines, New York, Beijing, Iran, Cuba, Cambodia, and recently in India.
