Viviane Beaufumé paints abstract poems. Her work is primarily based on acrylic painting, to which she has gradually added ink, oil pastels, and collages.
The Freedom of Gesture
Inspired by lyrical abstraction for gesture, COBRA for colors, and Joan Mitchell for poetic writing, she plays a lot with material, whether it involves superpositions or layers of transparency. The strength of colors is her signature.
" How to explain what comes from the deepest part of oneself? To explain it is already to renounce this extraordinary freedom of abstract expression, which allows me to wander through painting in search of a world of infinite possibilities to reveal. "
The act of painting, the strength of colors, and the freedom of gesture prevail over words, speech. No evasion, no avoidance, to escape the immediate creative act.
