New & Noteworthy Artist

After a short training in art (Literary Bac in Plastic Arts and DEUG in Plastic Arts at Paul Valéry University in Montpellier), Emilie Lagarde fully embraces her career as an artist. She currently lives in Tours and has her studio at La Morinerie in Saint-Pierre des Corps (an old factory that houses artists' studios).

Emilie Lagarde's work revolves around memory and dreams. The underbrush and forests, recurring places for her, serve as the backdrop for strong and strange scenes. Phantasmagorical figures and predatory wild animals are the main protagonists of these paintings, which fade away or emerge from these dark places.

Emilie Lagarde's painting is the expression of her memories, questions, fears, and dreams. Her dark palette, predominantly featuring brown, blue, and black tones, spreads across the canvas with a vagueness characteristic of dreams and myths.
