Sean Madden

Sean Madden is a Fine Artist whose work consists primarily of abstract painting and figurative sculpture. His work investigates mark making, colour and composition. These experiments navigate emotional and psychological spaces that evoke our human experience. He lives on the south coast of England and is a member of the Studio 18 group of artists based in Bexhill-On-Sea.

The themes and ideas for my work are varied and abstract, I'm influenced by almost anything. That said, I am naturally drawn to the bizarre and exotic. It's also true to say that my work, both 3 dimensional and painting, have a certain menace or sombre quality. Curiosity and contemplation (along with a little playfulness) feature heavily too.

More recently my work has veered back to larger abstract paintings, having set up a new studio in Bexhill, East Sussex.
