    The Insider Amanda Lambert says:

"I think Irene's style and use of materials are highly original. The element of story telling that she weaves throughout each work, thoughtfully constructed with found materials that at times refer to the subject matter itself, lends the work a wonderful authenticity. I am reminded at times of Marc Chagall, whose Russian homeland he was forced to flee but whose culture and folklore featured in his work in a similar narrative manner. "

Artwork inspired by Baroness Maria Antonietta Avanzo, the first Italian female racetrack driver. She competed in numerous events, racing the Mille Miglia and the Targa Florio race. In 1921, she drove a twelve-cylinder Packard 299 on the beach of the island of Fanø, in Denmark. She fought for the right to compete as a woman and became one of the most famous activists for gender equality in sports of her times.

Watercolor on paper applied on canvas, framed in gold. Ready to hang.

Born in Siena the 14th of August 1982, I'm a self taught artist. My favourite media are acrylics, watercolours and self produced pygments, but also found objects, recycling materials and old '30s magazines. On my artworks's back I often put collages, fabrics and photos, so that the B-side is often as interesting as the recto. My works have been shown in several Italian and international exhibitions and feature in many private collections.
