Yuliya Martynova

Kazakhstani artist Yuliya Martynova now lives and works in London, where she creates Watercolour Paintings that are awash with colour. These Abstract Paintings toe the line of Figurative Art, making them an interesting exploration of the lines between different genres and styles. While it may take a moment to identify them, upon closer inspection you’ll notice that Yuliya’s work tends to take paper planes and boats as subject, making travel and movement a key theme in her art. There’s something mystical about the look of these pieces, in which each colour blends seamlessly into those that surround it.

Career

Interestingly, Yuliya has a background in both art and law, and she followed a successful legal career before deciding to dedicate herself to art in 2015. Since then, she has developed her own distinct style, often exploring Beaches and Skies in her dreamlike Paintings. She now works from a studio in Wimbledon, earning herself international attention in the art world.

Exhibitions featuring Yuliya Martynova

Yuliya’s Abstract Art has been hung in exhibitions across the globe, in both solo and group shows. Some of her more notable shows include a solo show at ArtPlay in Moscow and a spot at the New Artists Fair at the Truman Brewery in London.
