Kate Lowe

Kate Lowe is a Canadian artist based in London who paints offbeat still lifes. Her scenes freeze moments of activity in ways that make the onlooker stop to contemplate and reconsider their ordinariness. We find the artist’s family scenes particularly poignant, for they seem to capture important little moments that are too easily missed and too quickly forgotten.

The artist spent two decades working in advertising before moving into art. She has taken courses at several of London’s renowned
art colleges, including Central Saint Martins and Heatherley’s.

In 2015 Kate made it to the final round of the BBC Arts show, The Big Painting Challenge. She has exhibited her work in various private galleries and her paintings can be found in collections in Europe, the US, Canada, Australia and South Africa.
