About the artwork

Composition géométrique is a textile collage by Tanya Angelova. This contemporary tapestry presents an abstract landscape made of carefully arranged geometric forms. Lines, curves and blocks of colour are composed with clarity and control.

As the artist explains: “Tapestry is a very ancient technique. Timeless in its values. Materials: wool, cotton, silk. A modern reading of an old technique. Made over three months. Experimenting and deepening my knowledge of weaving and dyeing techniques is essential to my practice. Research is part of every path, and connection to traditional methods helps refine my own style. In today’s art world, tapestry stands out as an innovative expressive medium. This work features a geometric and abstract composition. Clean lines and carefully chosen colours create a delicate yet dynamic effect, inviting viewers to explore the subtlety of each pattern.”

Tanya Angelova

Tanya Angelova turns the transformation of matter into a poetic gesture. Inspired by textures and surfaces, she explores the possibilities of textile, line, and gesture as means to translate an emotion.

The sewn canvas becomes a sensitive support for her: each stitch, each overlay, anchors a presence, a memory. Her universe unfolds between abstraction and figuration, in a neo-expressionist approach where ambiguity becomes strength.
