Antonio de Campos

Born: 1961 in Brazil
Lives and Works: Frankfurt, Germany
Interdisciplinary artist works across sculpture, photography, mixed media and painting. His abstract paintings and prints are usually originated from installations or sculptures formed from various techniques and materials.
Antonio often adds ink drawings and hand painted motifs to his prints, produced on paper or other surfaces. With his talent for working in so many different mediums, Antonio uses an artistic language that is both engaging and experimental, which expand the field of architectural exploration through abstract exercises in three dimensions. These artistic works propose a new and different world view, questioning the physical constraints of design.
Antonio began his studies in Bahia where he graduated as an Architect and film maker. After many years in London, Antonio relocated to Berlin and now lives in Frankfurt.
For the past 30 years, he conceptualised and executed hundreds of drawings, paintings, sculptures and reliefs for the world renowned architect Zaha Hadid. Many of his works have been featured at Zaha’s prestigious exhibitions around the world, including :
