Fion Gunn’s Education and Career
Fion grew up in Ireland and studied at Crawford College of Art & Design before moving to France to spend a post-graduate year at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts Supérieure de Nancy. Fion now lives in London and exhibits her paintings globally. Fion was the first Irish artist to have a public art commission in China for the city of Zhangjiakou and has done residencies in Tate Exchange Liverpool, Baltic Art Center in Poland and RedGate Gallery in China.
In 2019, Fion’s solo show, ‘Young Gunn’ took place at Candid Arts Trust in London. The exhibition was curated by Emily de Wolfe Petit and showcased an extensive collection of her ongoing portfolio. The show exhibited Fion’s “Odyssey of human life” and reflected just how multi-faceted her style is. Combining seascapes and cityscapes, the rural and urban, the figurative and imagined, Fion explored a multitude of themes including migration, feminism and the relationship between the East and the West in the exhibition.
