Minimalist Artists

Discover Minimalist artists online. Browse a growing catalogue of emerging artists such as Robert Bloomfield, Gareth Griffiths and Riccardo Cavallari, specialising in all mediums from photography, painting to drawing and more.…

Robert Bloomfield is known for his moody Minimalist Black and White paintings such as Fenella. Tiny figures wander through severe, unyielding landscapes making for existential works that are as suggestive of loss as they are of hope.

Lei Sylviye has been referred to as a Rothko of the modern era for his ethereal paintings which play with form and colour to elucidate ideas on modern existence. His series of brightly coloured oil paintings, featuring DIMENSIONAL SEQUENCE 2018-13, are vibrant visual references to the digital realm.

Welsh-sculptor Gareth Griffiths is recognised for his architectural style which goes by the name Googie. His sculptures, such as the steel Pipelino, are distinguished by fluid lines, geometric cut-outs and biomorphic shapes.

Charlie Oscar Patterson is equally praised for his sculptures, all rooted in his fascination with bold, block colours and minimal forms. Cherry Bakewell (2017), a combination of emulsion and acrylic on cut out wooden panels, is deliciously coloured with a palette of inviting pinks and yellows - a playful addition to any space or collection.

Collage and mixed media artist Kareem Rizk has cut and pasted his own unique style of contemporary art. His textured and multi-layered works such as Blue Cube, blend and build upon nostalgic vintage postcards, brochures and catalogues. The result, aided by the use of warm pastel colours, are pieces brimming with charm and sophistication.

Pak Keung Wan exercises a great deal of patience when composing Minimalist drawings such as FRANGERE (FROM THE SERIES IN PAPYRO). The quiet aesthetic of his delicate and insightful drawings is deeply calming. His works would make a worthy addition to any home or collection.

If you have an appetite for photography, Minimalist photographers such as Riccardo Cavallari or Tommy Clarke might be of interest. Riccardo captures carefully constructed portraits and minimalist visuals bordering on the surreal as seen in his Desaparecidos series.

Tommy takes aerial photographs of landscapes but in unusual and often puzzling ways. Without any editing, Tommy orchestrates his shots so that the landscapes seem to metamorphose into patterns, colours and shapes like in Useless Loop II.
