Iranian-born sculptor, Siah Armajani, creates grand scaling architectural and geometrical sculptures. He is most famously known for designing the 1996 Olympic torch, which was delivered across the United States of America. Armajani has been known to work with several mediums, and in addition to his large sculptures and public commissions, he has also delved into creating a small series of intimate drawings and prints.
Armajani’s solo exhibitions have been featured at the Nelson-Atkins…Show more Museum of Art in Kansas City, the Santa Fe Art Institute, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, Museu D’Art Contemporani in Barcelona, Geneva’s Musee d’Art Moderne et Contemporain, and New York’s Swiss Institute, to name a few. Armajani has also created distinguished public commissions, including bridges, public reading rooms and poetry gardens.
