Cai Yuan

Cai Yuan is well known as one half of the performance duo ‘Mad for Real’ who made headlines in 1999 by jumping on Tracey Emin’s bed, but he works across a variety of media. His print work combines strong colour and superb composition with creative political and social commentary. His One Word series disrupts our view of the world, shaking up countries and removing the links and networks that typically tie them together to create a colourful new global map; an archipelago of island states.
