The Low Bros are a duo of German Post Graffiti artists made up of brothers Christoph (1984) and Florin Schmidt (1982). With a background rooted in street culture and an interest in contemporary developments, they explore a "retro-futuristic" atmosphere that they themselves invented. Drawing from their collective memory of the 80s and 90s, the Low Bros offer a perspective that allows for reimagining the present future; a perception that refocuses the conflicts they embody in the modern era.
Their work includes several recurring characters, constructed from bold geometric shapes and copper wires, symbolizing our modern connectivity. As the viewer breaks down these shapes, the complexity of their aesthetic is revealed, each symbol adding a new layer to explore. A recurring character is the wolf, often duplicated or fragmented, its hard exterior juxtaposed with soft touches in flesh pink tones. Bright hues form emotional and intellectual barriers against the imposing gazes. We are the wolf, within a reality that is both unrecognizable and familiar.
The Low Bros live and work in Berlin and Hamburg, Germany.
