Hannah Tilson (b. 1995) lives and works in London. She studied at the Royal Drawing School (2021), the New York Studio School, and the Slade School of Fine Art (BA, 2018). She has been an artist in residence at Plop (2024) and Palazzo Monti (2022) and participated in Whitechapel Gallery’s Art Icon 2024. Tilson’s work spans painting, printmaking, and installation, layering translucent and opaque pigments to create fragmented, pattern-filled spaces. Figures merge with fabrics, sometimes disappearing entirely, sometimes revealing glimpses of a hand or shoe. These shifting, rhythmic compositions invite the viewer to question perception and reality.
