The Beauty of Words
Laura Mussard's work revolves around the letter and color in motion, in a free and joyful approach. She likes to say that she makes color dance with words.
Her paintings possess a universe of invigorating poetry and a very communicative cheerfulness. Like marquetry of contrasting shades, the forms connect, then detach from each other to reveal a letter, then an entire word. A world in colorama where her varied pictorial inspirations are expressed, and in which one always finds oneself in one way or another: Laura also personalizes her paintings on request, and imagines with us the work and the magical letter behind which can hide a name, an emotion, or a cherished memory...
In an aesthetic that is both pure and rich in suggestions, Laura Mussard creates intimate works. Sometimes tiny like a jewel in its case, a treasure. Sometimes gigantic, enveloping us like a dive into color through her murals.
Her Journey
Born in Réunion in 1988, she grew up near Paris. Graduated from the Decorative Arts of Paris in 2011, she spent beautiful years in luxury houses as a textile and jewelry designer. In 2017, she set up her workshop in Burgundy, by the banks of the Loire. Today, Laura's work around the letter is part of a creative approach in motion that evolves with the projects and encounters.
