Baroque Anarchist

London-based visual artist inspired by Baroque epoch and the contemporary, born during Chernobyl Disaster. Fascinated by the quest for immortality through science and art, exploring vulnerability and strength of the body. Background in Baroque painting and theatre design influences bold, punkish works addressing contemporary issues.

Aiming to revive popularity of painting, echoing Baroque times, creating impactful, cathartic pieces. Influenced by fashion icons like McQueen and Westwood, pushing boundaries of painting to make it relevant. Holds BFA in painting, MFA in stage/costume design from Surikov Art Institute, and a contemporary painting degree from Moscow’s CAI (2012). Awarded PhD in Theatre Design, designed 80 costumes for Hamlet at Russian Art Academy in Moscow.

Moved to London in 2019, continuing to paint with oils on large canvases, breaking the fourth wall between art and viewer. Explores installation art, painting on clothes, and interactive performance for immersive experiences. Actively engaged in London art scene, recent solo exhibition at Hampstead Art School in April 2023. Constantly challenging boundaries, seeking to expand artistic horizons for years to come.
