Ines Khadraoui

Abstraction allows the painter Inès Khadraoui to experiment with new pictorial writing, through the bodily and sensory expression of her own emotions. Her abstract works combine strength and fragility, construction and deconstruction, and thus testify to a liberated energy.

Pictorial Gesture at the Center of her Work

Inès Khadraoui has a Master's degree in Design from the Créapole ESDI school of applied arts in Paris. Still today, she lives and works in Paris.

The expressionist style that characterized her original artistic work has progressively freed itself from any figurative form to give way to a more abstract translation of her perception of the world.

The body and its means of expression are then placed at the centre of her artistic work. Indeed, the artist explores her pictorial gestures, experiments with her own emotions and transcribes them into her paintings. In a world where our emotions are permanently solicited, this artist invites us, by her introspective approach, to refocus the human in the heart of our lives.

Nature, a major source of inspiration for the artist, echoes the existential ephemerality that she perceives in our world, which transports us from one state to another, in joy or in pain, through the prism of time.

The works of the artist Inès Khadraoui mix strength and fragility, construction and deconstruction, and are then presented as witnesses of liberated bodily energies. It is the theatre of an unceasing duel between lines and forms that marry and repel each other.

Expressing the invisible through the movement of forms, the dissolution of colours, translating the complexity of her emotions, in direct link with the environment in which she lives, are fundamental elements of her work.

Her artistic practice privileges intuitiveness, the freedom of the gesture, thus leaving a great place to the pictorial accident. Her painting translates emotions in their raw state, those that connect us to our own existence.
