Catherine Hoang

Marked by Human Pathological Anatomy, the sublime, the ridiculous, and the fleeting nature of the Human Condition, Catherine Hoang's themes are survival, the states and attitudes of the Living within an ever-changing universe thanks to the Vital impulse: a fundamental drive that pushes us to overcome obstacles In sculpture, her approach is a transposition and deformation of our perception of the Real to transcend it by transforming it. She works with Wood and Stone. Her painting is created in the spirit of Chinese literati to reach the essential and suggest, but also, depending on the viewer's sensitivity, to perceive the most minute details, micro-visions within the vision: on Xuan handmade paper, she mainly uses Chinese ink and some pigments, and on canvas, acrylic.
