GRAFFMATT

Graffmatt is a painter installed in Chambéry. His passion for painting has proven through the one he dedicates to street art and hip-hop culture. Fascinated by artists and their achievements, Graffmatt descends into the street to make, in situ, many photographic reports. He then uses his shots as sources of inspiration, without trying to reproduce the exact copy. On the contrary, by means of acrylic painting, POSCA felts, bombs and brushes, the artist breaks down the images to reflect them according to his own interpretation. A great follower of cardboard support, the painter likes the flexibility of his format - which he can adapt to the will of his desires - as much as the inscriptions stamped there - graphic base with the composition of his funds. Figurative and expressive, his works are carried out in two stages, which the artist describes as follows: "First the dynamic elaboration of an abstract/graffiti background and then more detail and quieter work, contrasting with the background". Having needed to immerse yourself completely in his universe, Graffmatt accompanies his pictorial work of listening to urban music. The choice of musical style will be reflected on his works, some sounds encouraging him to use dark shades, while others will push him towards bright colors.
