New & Noteworthy Artist

In the mid-90’s, Maggie Jiang left her hometown of Beijing to pursue higher education in the U.S. at Carnegie-Mellon University, where she studied economics and management. After a long career in business and technology, in 2015 she took the big step of becoming a full-time artist. Maggie’s art education started with weekend classes at Gage Academy in 2005. In addition to painting, she has also studied sculpture and printmaking at North Seattle College, but is otherwise a self-taught artist who greatly enjoys the continual learning that art-making encompasses. As a first generation Chinese American immigrant, and someone whose life has led her down a multicultural path, a primary focus of her work is creating a visual language that can communicate across cultures. Exhibiting regularly since 2016, Maggie is represented by J. Rinehart Gallery in Seattle.
