Eun Lee
Eun Lee is a South Korean painter based in Munich, Germany. Growing up in the Korean countryside, her close relationship with nature was shaped by her grandfather, who encouraged her to observe the landscape slowly and appreciate its quiet rhythms. These early experiences continue to inform her artistic practice.

Having lived and worked across Europe and Asia, Lee draws inspiration from diverse landscapes. Her paintings bring together fragments of light, colour, and memory collected through her travels, sometimes combining plants from different climates with the shifting light of dawn and dusk to create spaces that feel both familiar and dreamlike. Through these imagined landscapes, she explores the subtle boundary between reality and memory, the ordinary and the surreal.

Working primarily with transparent layers of oil paint, Lee builds luminous surfaces in which hidden forms and overlapping images gradually emerge. Her paintings invite viewers into quiet spaces for reflection, where personal memories and imagined places can coexist.

Lee received her BFA in Painting from Hongik University in Seoul, an MA in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins in London, and later studied Painting and Graphic Studies at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München under Professors Schirin Kretschmann and Axel Kasseböhmer. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions across Germany, South Korea, Poland, the UK, Italy, and the United States.
