Isabelle Schenckbecher

Isabelle Schenckbecher was born in 1955. Her grandfather, Charles Schenckbecher, is one of the great names in Alsatian painting, appreciated as much as a teacher as a painter.

Isabelle studied at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg . A teacher herself in Paris, she also paints and exhibits.
Her paintings are certainly not abstract, since they are wrested in a joyous, Siegfriedian struggle from an imagination brimming with life and love. It has certain aspects of figuration, of course, but only if we accept that figuration can be philosophy.
Isabelle Schenckbecher's work is rich in heart and spirit, in communion with the cosmos. Light and shadow extend in broad, powerful streaks across these paintings, full of movement, ebb and flow, full of the immensity of the world.
Here is a striking painting whose dense, happy calm opens our eyes to the splendor of creation. I'm delighted to know about this painting!

We can see that Nadege Druzkowski draws inspiration from film and literature. The recurring elements, often presented from different angles, lead the viewer to make up their own narrative. The subdued colours add an eerie silence to the works which, in turn, creates a charged atmosphere of suspense.
