Daniel Fletcher
London-based artist Daniel Fletcher creates large-scale abstract paintings and hand-pulled prints characterized by contemporary color palettes and expressive, instinctive gestures. His work has recently been highlighted in The Strategist and It’s Nice That.

Fletcher’s practice stems from a desire to translate emotion and feeling through the animation of marks and forms, crafting subtle facial expressions hidden within a playful visual language drawn from everyday life. His process involves a deep investigation into composition and color, working primarily on canvas or paper. Through careful layering, he pushes the possibilities of screen-printing techniques, infusing each piece with an energetic yet thoughtful rhythm.

Exploring the modern urge to present our lives publicly, and the insecurities that accompany it, Fletcher reflects on how we communicate emotion through simplified, almost comic features. By reducing the human face to its most essential forms, he conceals expressions beneath soft, stylized imagery. This act of concealment itself becomes symbolic of the way we project happiness and emotion through a carefully constructed visual code.
