Active in the arts since 2012 and working independently as a freelance artist since 2015, Elina Evstig is a self-taught painter whose creative path began in design and illustration. Now based in Berlin, their practice has been presented in local collective exhibitions as well as in a few international settings.
Working primarily in oils with Liquin as a medium, the artist focuses on figurative painting infused with elements of abstraction. Women and children frequently appear in the portraits—subjects that serve both as a tribute to a turbulent childhood and as a reflection of what resonates in adulthood.
Rather than bold declarations, the paintings unfold as quiet narratives, fragments of a personal visual language. Each work speaks to perception, memory, and emotion, yet remains deliberately open to interpretation. The artist offers only subtle descriptions, allowing viewers to encounter the works freely and discover their own meanings within them.
