More Works by Camille d'Alençon
Camille d'Alençon
Born in Paris in 1985, Camille d'Alençon graduated in applied sculpture with synthetic materials from the École Olivier de Serre in 2006 and in printed image from the Arts-Décoratifs in 2009. The artist self-taught her technique of oil painting by creating portraits, after familiarizing herself with numerous techniques of engraving, sculpture, and molding.

A Unique Artistic Journey

The immediacy of painting allows Camille d'Alençon to move from one subject to another, presenting to the viewer non-places such as the rooftops of cities, the Rungis market, the Parisian ring road, gestures and postures in stolen moments. She explores varied and often contrasting themes, navigating between the fascinating, the impertinent, the unusual, the beautiful, the strange, and the improbable.

Provoking to De-dramatize
Camille d'Alençon likes to be on the edge, provoking not to disturb, but to de-dramatize. Her work takes us from dead animals on the ring road, inviting reflection on generally taboo or marginalized subjects. Her artistic approach seeks to open dialogue and offer a new perspective on everyday reality.
