Passionate about drawing, Sylvaine Catoire first followed the path of social work. From this one she keeps the meeting with the human and his light. It is the observation of it that she endeavors to transmit in her paintings.
"I like to observe the bodies, their movement, the play of lights on the skin ... I like their infinite movement, this quivering of life under the carnal envelope ... The emotion that it gives me becomes a Force that I constantly explore in my canvases whatever my subject ... I paint with strongly diluted pigments, in colorful juice, by overlapping, inlays, juxtapositions of colors or values, I like to structure or destroy the shape and suggest the movement ... I like the eye to get the shape and play with reality "
