Carmen Varela
She has been dedicated to artistic trades in the fields of painting and sculpture for more than forty years.

She studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid, but what carries more weight in her career is her self-taught training.

Her work has received several recognitions, including the First Prize at the Urban Sculpture Contest, Pinto 2021, Virgen de las Viñas Contest 2020, Antonio López Acquisition Award in Tomelloso, 2014, or the first prize of the "Miradas" Contest in 2008.

Over the years, she has participated in individual and collective exhibitions with Spanish galleries, including those held with OCCO Art Gallery, Espacio 36, Alexandra Irigoyen, Martínez Glera, Can Jeroni, and Sala Cibeles. She has also participated in art fairs such as Art Madrid, the Cerveira Biennial in Portugal, and The Affordable Art Fair in New York, Singapore, and London.

In the years 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2014, she was selected to participate in the Francisco de Goya Chair with Antonio López.

In 2016, a large exhibition of her painting was held at the Villanueva Pavilion of the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid, which was visited by more than twenty-five thousand people.

Her work has been selected in various contests such as the International Exhibition of Plastic Arts of Valdepeñas, the Albacete Biennial, and the El Brocense Contest of the Diputación de Cáceres. In 2012, she participated in a collective exhibition at the Stenhallen Gallery, Borgholm, Sweden.
