Foreign Object is a London-based creative studio and nomadic gallery led by the creative duo Amina Nugumanova and Elmira Ismukhamedova. The studio serves as a platform for emerging artists, aiming to showcase the new generation of visual talents. Their most recent exhibition took place at GALLERY46, a contemporary independent art gallery in London. "The whispers of our native land are felt throughout this collection of artworks with an overbearing feeling of nostalgia and exploration of home. With artworks depicting a homage to our playful childhood and the naive fantasies we used to believe. We come from a country we rarely see represented in the West and are as a result left with the constant feeling of longing for home. In the hopes of one day seeing a wider representation of Kazakhstan and Central Asian artists, we wanted to convey its spirit through the chosen artworks in the meantime. This is a deeply personal collection with artists Naira Mushtaq, Michal Cygan, Georgia Theologou, Paul Solovyev and many more visualising fragments that offer an encapsulating feeling of our home country." As collectors and connoisseurs recover from the Coachella of the art world, Frieze London, get ready to soak up the latest and greatest in contemporary art inspired by London's 21st Frieze Fair. This collection draws inspiration from the 2024 curated sections: Artist-to-Artist and Smoke. Artist-to-Artist, after debuting to widespread praise in 2023, returns to Frieze London as a highlight of the fair’s artist-driven programme. Smoke, organised by Pablo José Ramírez (Curator, Hammer Museum, Los Angeles), brings together international artists at the forefront of the sculpture and ceramics today – whose practices mine pre-colonial traditions to use clay in expanded forms – presenting ceramics as one of the most impactful aesthetic forms in contemporary art.

Our collection primarily consists of established Contemporary artists known for creating artwork that possesses both visual allure and art historical significance. Striking the delicate balance between these two aspects can be unexpectedly challenging. At times, artworks may captivate the eye but lack depth, while in other cases, they may convey a profound narrative but lack aesthetic brilliance. However, we truly enjoy it when these two qualities harmoniously converge. Artists like Takashi Murakami have masterfully embraced this fusion for decades, resulting in his status as one of the most influential artists of his era. His work not only appeals to collectors seeking pieces that illuminate a room and create a visual spectacle but also resonates with those aiming to build a noteworthy family collection featuring blue-chip artists. This broad appeal has consistently driven the increasing value of his artwork over time. Likewise, artists such as Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, and Jeff Koons within our collection have also achieved remarkable success. Their ability to produce visually stunning and conceptually meaningful works explains why their names are highly coveted and represent prime investment opportunities for serious art collectors.
