The Room We Make

We are pleased to announce a new exhibition in collaboration with Soho Home, The Room We Make.

At the centre of Rise Art’s partnership with Soho Home is a shared belief that art and interiors are most compelling when they exist in dialogue. Inspired by this philosophy and a series of the same name by headline artist Ulrika Segerberg, The Room We Make explores what can emerge when artworks, spaces and ideas come together.

Harnessing Soho Home’s design heritage and Rise Art’s commitment to championing outstanding artists, the exhibition brings together works chosen for their sensitivity to form, material and detail, drawing attention to unexpected commonalities between seemingly disparate creative practices. Segerberg’s work reflects this open-ended approach. Moving between painting, installation, folk tales and popular culture, her practice allows meaning to evolve through context and encounter.

The Room We Make celebrates the idea that a space is built collectively – through the exchange between artists and designers, objects and materials, past influences and new perspectives. It is these layers, and the relationships between them, that ultimately give a room its character, atmosphere and sense of possibility.
