Jane completed her BA in Fine Art at Central St Martins and a three year post-graduate Painting Correspondence Course with Turps Art School, London.
Colour is integral to Jane Pryor’s studio paintings and collages, which demonstrate a preoccupation with the edge and the object-hood of the painting. Some…Show more paintings are paired with other works giving rise to new interpretations. She is interested in the inherent mutability of things, that nothing is fixed in appearance or interpretation.
Present in the process is the notion of Kairos, the opportune moment. Fragments of possibility exist in an elastic space of contemplation, where ideas jostle and sidle up to one another. She sees her process as an improvisation of borrowed ideas and breathable space.
