Jane Hayes Greenwood is a London-based artist working primarily in painting, alongside sculpture, video and installation. Her work draws on landscape and natural motifs to explore life, death, desire and embodiment. She combines the familiar and otherworldly, translating complex emotional states into heightened visual forms where internal and external fold into one another.

Recent work includes Weird Weather, a series of drawings and paintings using landscape and atmospheric phenomena as expressive extensions of psychological and bodily experience. These works merge remembered topographies of the artist’s childhood with dynamic, anthropomorphised skies and hills, exploring how grief, love and wonder intersect with elemental forces. They examine connections between the human and un/natural world, where light, form and shifting geographies convey emotion, memory and change.

The Witch’s Garden (2019–2026) investigates the histories and properties of medicinal plants and their intersections with myth, healing, harm and human desire. Her practice is informed by research including psychoanalysis, botanical knowledge, neuroscience, feminist histories, medicine and myth.

Hayes Greenwood has exhibited internationally, including solo shows at Castor (London) and GiG (Munich), and group exhibitions at Stuart Shave Modern Art, Mana Contemporary and Saatchi Gallery. She is currently working on a major commission for Hospital Rooms.
