Sandrine LEON

In her work as a photographer, Sandrine Leon works by series. It then developed a theme and its variants over several years. This is how in 2000, she began a reflection on the individual and consumption. The Frigos/Top Series, photographed in debt in individuals, tells us about the food and supply methods, waste, mess. The artist has taken over this work almost 20 years later, in order to observe the evolution in our ways of consuming. In the animal series in danger, it features figurines-toilets, for an awareness of the fragility of certain animal species. This process is found in the Little World series, where small characters seem to be busy in a parallel world. Thus, during periods of containment of the COVID 19, started in 2020, these figurines come to life in a world where surgical masks diverted from their primary usefulness, have the right to a second use. Human beings that we see in the distance like these little model characters find themselves in the beaches series, where the photos are voluntarily overexposed. This point of view gives the whole a feeling of nostalgia but also of sweetness, thanks to the light of the beaches of Brittany. Sandrine Leon was a set photographer on filming filming, and series for France2. She worked as an illustrator photographer for the edition (Bayard, Sutton, Wartberg, ...) she is a member of the Plainpicture Creative Images Agency and the Renting Art agency.
