A true technician of the body
Jean-Pierre Picheny's passion for sculpture came later in life. He nurtured this interest while pursuing a career as an associate professor in electrical engineering. Over the following decade, he dedicated himself to mastering a wide range of techniques: clay modelling, lost-wax moulding, elastomer moulding, working with wax, bronze, chasing, patinas, body casting, as well as working with resin and concrete.
Immortalising and enhancing femininity
Jean-Pierre Picheny's inspiration is fuelled by encounters with female models and a pursuit of uninhibited sensuality. The human and the aesthetic dimensions are both central to his creative process. Figurative bronze sculptures, resin works, photography, realistic body casts, abstract pieces derived from moulds, and sculptural lamps: his creative research knows no boundaries
