Magdalena Gluszak-Holeksa (b. 1990) is a Polish painter and a graphic designer, who currently lives and works in the UK. She grew up in the Silesian Beskids Mountain range in the South of Poland.
She holds a Master of Fine Arts from Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL (2019), a PgCert in Design for Visual Communication from London College of Communication, UAL (2024) and a BA (Hons) in Photography from Arts University Bournemouth (2014).
Her most recent solo show A Mountain, Too, Has Its Thoughts (2022) took place as part of her five-month residency (2021/22) at Broadway Gallery Letchworth. Recent group exhibitions include: UN-TRANS-LATED, Huang Contemporary, London (2025), Airy Disk, River Art Gallery, Taiwan (2024) and John Moores Painting Prize, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool (2023). She recently completed a six-month residency program at St Barnabas Dalston (May–October 2025), which concluded in a group exhibition Breaking Bells Make No Noise (2025).
She is a two-time recipient of grants from The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation (2017 and 2018), and has been shortlisted for the Hari Art Prize (2025) and Jackson’s Painting Prize (2023 and 2019). Her work has been featured in Agnoscis Journal, 2nd Edition (2024); Trebuchet Magazine, Issue 12 (2022); Saatchi Art Rising Stars (2019); and Jackson’s Painting Prize Artist Interview (2019).
